Delphine Nain Zurkiya is a Partner at McKinsey & Company in their Boston office location. She is one of the leaders of the North America Healthcare practice, with a focus and passion for counseling leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies on strategy, R&D and marketing.
Her experience at McKinsey include:
- R&D transformation at a large Healthcare company, focused on accelerating time to market for assets in the pipeline, and improving lifecycle management
- Product Launch strategy for a Medical device company resulting in accelerating peak sales in the first 6 months of launch through improved customer segmentation, targeting and value proposition
- Corporate strategy for a Medical products company that identified a focused set of commercial and operational initiatives to double Enterprise Value
- Tactical pricing improvement program for a Medical products company that yielded $100M in profit in the first 18 months
Prior to her McKinsey experience, Delphine worked as a research scientist in the Medical Devices group at Siemens Corporate Research, and as a research software engineer in the Surgical Planning Research Laboratory (SPL) at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. At the SPL, Delphine was one of the founding engineers of the open source software “3D Slicer”, a widely used medical visualization application funded by the NIH.
Delphine received her B.Sc. and M. Eng. degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In her thesis, she developed novel machine learning algorithms to aid medical diagnosis. In graduate school she was the recipient of the MacArthur Foundation International Affairs Fellowship and studied international developments in information technology and related public policy issues. She is the author of more than twenty articles in scholarly journals, professional magazines, and edited books in the fields of computer science, biomedical engineering and public policy.
